PROUD Astwood Bank missed out on the chance to grace the turf at Lord’s after losing in the semi-finals of the National Village Cup to reigning champions Sessay.
The North Yorkshire visitors were put into bat and posted a commanding score of 221-8 from their 40 overs.
And the quality of the Yorkshire & District Premier Division side showed with the ball as they skittled out a valiant Bank for 114 to secure an 80-run victory and book their place in the final where they will meet Reed (Hertfordshire).
More than 1,000 people turned out to watch the game which was also streamed live on radio.
