WEBHEATH archer Kathryn Taylor shattered two UK National Archery records on Sunday.

The 15-year-old Ridgeway Academy pupil shot her second outdoor tournament of the year – a local British Record Status shoot hosted by Droitwich Company of Archers and shot on their field in Hanbury.

In near perfect conditions, Taylor shot the morning’s Short Warwick round, stepping up an age group and distance to girls’ under 18 level and beating the existing UK National record by 12 points with a score of 400 out of a possible 432.

In the afternoon she reverted to her normal girls’ under 16s age group and distances and again shot a new UK National record with a score of 417 out of 432 for the Junior Warwick round.

Taylor is coached by former Great Britain national team coach Clive Jeacock and her mum and dad Beverley and Paul Taylor who are both former GB internationals.
