Sutton Park is a fine setting for renowned relays

PICTURESQUE Sutton Park was again the venue for the English Road Running Association Men’s 12-Stage and Women’s Six-Stage Relays on Saturday.

As ever, some of the UK’s finest runners were in action over a mixture of short and long legs and Bromsgrove & Redditch Athletic Club were spearheaded by Conor Smith in 44th place in a time of 29.14.

Other club results: Bryn Turner 48th in 18.04, Mark Appleton 51st in 31.21, Calvin Scoltock 55th in 19.07, Ben O’Connor 56th in 20.26, Stephen Brooks 57th in 35.26, Andrew Freeman 57th in 19.03, Kevin Fisher 57th in 33.09, James Hood 57th in 31.16, Kevin Lanckham 58th in 23.17, Tom Richardson 58th in 20.24, Paul Atkins 59th in 37.39.

This secured 55th place for the B&R team.




The B&R senior ladies again could not complete a team but the two ladies who did compete impressed as Sally Hogan finished 30th in 19.49 and Tamara Freeman 38th in 35.40.
