ANGLING
STEVE BELLION made it two wins on the trot at Alvechurch Fisheries with victory in the Thursday Open in which 16 fished as he landed 77lb 4oz from peg 24.
Second was Lee Davies with (peg 4) with 70lb 15oz, third was Danny Tresigne (peg 11) with 69lb 11oz and fourth was Ron Taylor (peg 36) with 64lb 9oz.
Bellion rotated two swims throughout on pole and corn over pellet feed at 13 metres and four metres to net quality carp up to 9lb and stockies to weigh 77lb 4oz.
Davies fished pole and corn at 12 metres over a number of swims for his weight of carp.
Tresigne fished waggler tactics up to the island with banded pellet on the hook and Taylor fished pole and pellet over a number of swims for his catch.
The Saturday Open saw 18 fish and Bellion’s brilliant run of form on the Horseshoe continued as another win made it a hat-trick of victories.
On peg 24, Bellion landed 54lb 14oz as he rung the changes over a number of swims, fishing pole and corn for his winning weight of carp and stockies.
Second was Toni Musticone (peg 36) with 52lb 7oz, third was Alvin Mario (peg 4) with 32lb 7oz and fourth was Taylor (peg 28) with 29lb 15oz.
Musticone fished long pole and corn on the hook and also late down the margin edge for carp and stockies, Mario fished long pole and pellet over a number of swims and Taylor fished long pole out in front and late down the margin.
GLYN Blewett won Dark Lane AC’s Saturday competition on the River Arrow at Alcester with a catch weighing 12lb 14oz.
Second place went to his brother Barry with 10lb, third was Pete Lewis with 9lb 11oz and the section winners were Tony Avery (8lb 8oz) and Steve Spencer (5lb 9oz).
The next day, on the River Alne at Great Alne, the Needles AC match was won by Chris Cole with 6lb 14oz and joint second were Alan Elms and Dave Lewis with 2lb 4oz.
The section winners were Barry Maskell and Richard Mathews.
