SUCCESS was kept in the family as Redditch HDA Tennis Club’s team of sisters Kiyyah and Latesha Grant were crowned 12&U girls’ county team champions.

The pair took on Bromsgrove, Malvern and Ombersley in the Herefordshire & Worcestershire Aegon Team Tennis League and each tie consisted of two singles and one doubles match.

The Grant sisters beat both Bromsgrove and Ombersley B 3-0, although the matches against Ombersley A and Malvern were not so comfortable and both ties finished 1-1 after the singles.

However, the Grants showed they had the edge by winning the doubles contests in both games in two sets to finish as champions.

Redditch HDA has 14 teams in the Aegon Leagues for adults and juniors from 8&U through to 18&U. With two weeks to go Redditch are top in 18&U boys’ Division One and 16&U boys’ Division One.

The 14&U Redditch boys’ team topped their group and finished as county champions. The team of Joseph Morris, Max Hingley, Harvey Ravenscroft, Scott Mortimer, Louis Walsh and Jack Hingley beat both Pershore & Ross-on-Wye 4-2 and defeated Hereford 5-1.

The club offers opportunities to players of all standards. Whether it is social tennis, competitive tennis or coaching, there is something for everyone.
