ALVECHURCH have strengthened their back-room team to help their fight to keep their Step Three status.
Former Redditch United, Evesham United, Bromsgrove Rovers and Moor Green midfielder Danny Scheppel has joined the Church staff as first-team coach, working alongside boss Dean Holtham and assistant Matt Kirby.
Holtham’s relationship wth Scheppel goes back to the start of his playing career when they were together at Birmingham City.
The 38-year-old’s know-how will be a big asset, says Holtham.
“I used to coach Danny at Blues Academy when he was 16-18 and he went on to have a really good career in non-League,” added Holtham.
“He knows what’s required to get us out of the situation we’re in. He knows the level.”
Meanwhile, a new date for the Church’s Worcestershire Senior Invitation Cup against Bromsgrove Sporting has been arranged. It had been put back a week from its initial date to Thursday April 23 at Evesham United’s Jubilee Stadium.
