REDDITCH RFC were beaten 38-3 by runaway leaders Birmingham and Solihull in their first league game in over a month.

Will Spires kicked the Kingfishers only points of the afternoon having been awarded consecutive home walkover wins in their last two fixtures.

And the result means Redditch are fourth in the Midlands 5 West (South) table after suffering their second defeat of the season.

Spires kicked Redditch into the lead with a penalty which proved to be the only time the away side would trouble the scoreboard.

Birmingham and Solihull ran in three tries towards the end of the first-half to leave Redditch 17-3 behind at the break.

And the home side scored three further tries in the second period to take the game away from Redditch before adding another effort at the death.

Redditch are next in action at home to Bishops Castle on Saturday, December 18 with kick-off at 2.15pm for their final game of the year.
