GLYN Smith scored a hat-trick of tries as Alcester’s second XV romped to a 45-22 won against Pinley’s second XV.
Alcester were beaten 36-14 by Pinley earlier this season in the Warwickshire Shield but exacted revenge for that defeat with a seven-try win.
Smith dotted down the opening try before Mark Burrell added a second converted try within the opening half an hour.
James Roberts then notched Alcester’s third try before a pair of unconverted scores for Pinley reduced Alcester’s lead to 19-10 at the break.
The two teams traded tries again at the start of the second period as Smith grabbed his second before Pinley hit back again.
However, tries from Oscar Holland and Ant Cauvin finally took the game out of Pinley’s reach.
A converted try from the visitors once again saw them threaten a comeback only for Smith to complete his hat-trick and seal a 45-22 success.
Alcester’s first and second sides are next in action away at Old Leamingtonians on Saturday, November 20.
