ALCESTER RFC have named Will Silk as their new first team captain for the 2022/23 season.
Silk was named as the club’s Most Improved Player at their end of season awards night and has played first team rugby for a number of seasons having come through Alcester’s junior ranks.
And Silk replaces Max Biltcliffe in the role after he led the side to their highest ever league finish last term with pre-season training set to begin in a couple of weeks.
Silk became a prominent player in the side last campaign and continued to support the team from the sidelines despite being plagued with injury.
Sam Fell will continue in his role as second team captain for another year having impressed last term to rally numbers together to field a second XV.
Alcester will play in the Counties 2 Midlands West-South division next season with the RFU making significant changes to the structure of the competition.
