REDDITCH United Academy go into their fourth academic year in a strong position with a number of talented new scholars having enrolled on to the full-time education programme to join returning second-year scholars.
The initiative offers school leavers and 16 to 19-year-olds the opportunity to study Level 3 sport as well as receive FA coaching and officiating qualifications.
Alongside this, scholars receive UEFA-licenced coaching up to three times a week as well as representing Redditch United at ECFA, Reserves and even first team Level.
All education, training and matches take place at the Trico Stadium, giving academy scholars maximum opportunity to learn and develop in a footballing environment and build their education into their training and match days.
This coming September also brings the launch of the academy’s Higher National Diploma (HND) course, which offers university-level qualifications, extending the education pathway to academy scholars and new recruits into higher education.
The academy most recently hosted The UP Foundation Tournament, welcoming foundations and community schemes such as West Bromwich Albion Foundation, Arsenal FC in the Community, Aston Villa Foundation and Chelsea Community Trust, among other clubs and organisations.
With Puma being officially announced as the club and academy’s official kit provider, all equipment and kit will be supplied by the company. Academy scholars will all represent the club in the new kit, in the classroom, on the training pitch as well as on match days.
The Reds Academy’s Rory Budge said: “With GCSE results day next Thursday, we wish all school leavers the best of luck and we also be hosting an enrolment day on Friday, August 23 for those looking to enrol on our full-time education programme.
“After a positive pre-season, the academy is raring to go and excited to get the full-time programme back into action for the academic year. There are still places remaining on the full-time programme.
