Redditch youngsters star West Midlands Regional Floor and Vault Championships

SEVERAL Redditch gymnasts helped Worcestershire Gymnastics Academy to collect an impressive medal haul at  the West Midlands Regional Floor and Vault Championships in Stoke on Trent.

WGA sent ten teams to compete against gymnasts from all over the county to compete and were rewarded for their hard work and very tidy routines with six team medals.

The Redditch gymnasts were Maisey Leake, Fleur Manning, Lydia Gough, Ellie Simmons, Amelia Hunt, Katie Bove, Evan Miles and Ethan Mathias.

WGA took three team golds in advanced under-nine girls, beginner under-13s mixed and intermediate over-16s mixed.

There were also three team silvers in the intermediate under-nine boys,  advanced under-11 boys and intermediate under-11 mixed team.

Club officials said the rest of the gymnasts performing above and beyond all our expectations to have a fantastic championships.

The Intermediate nine & under girls Lily Ross, Pearl Doherty, Amelia Hunt, Rosa Parsons, Katie Bove and Emily Richards narrowly missed out on a medal this time but are raring to go for next year’s competition calendar.

The Stockwood-based clubhas had a fantastic competitive year with gymnasts competing at regional championships level through to recreational competitions.
