PLAYERS from Midland League Premier Division champions Alvechurch FC will be making their to Barney’s Barbers tomorrow, Saturday, for a pre-season trim ready for the new campaign, writes Matt Holland.
The team, which also won the League Cup and JW Hunt Cup last season, is being sponsored by the new business, which also offers a traditional Turkish shave and the latest craze from the East, Turkish hair singeing.
The company, just 12 months old and named after owner Adam Ainge’s, three-year-old son, aims to bring a new vibe of hair dressing to the quiet village.
Having seen a boom in customers at its original Northfield base, the Alvechurch barber shop, which will be managed by Taz Tacko, is set to be the first of an additional three to come.
It’s all about male pampering, with threading, nose waxing, hot towels and head massages while customers can also sit back and enjoy a beer.
The shop officially opens at 9am with the team expected at 2pm.
