David McDermott gave the Reds the lead after just 16 seconds, converting a Max Loveridge cross, but Hayes leveled three minutes into the second half through Harold Joseph’s header from a free-kick.
But Redditch grabbed the winner on 53 minutes with an Eli Bako setting up Reece Hewitt to finish smartly with an angled effort.
The Reds, who lie seventh in the Southern Premier table, look to build a winning run when they face Cambridge City at their St Ives ground-sharing base on Saturday.
