THERE was a full weekend of racing for West Midlands-based Do3 athletes who were out in force competing in triathlon and aquathlon events.

At Conquer the Chilterns in Marlow, Jamie Chatfield took the overall win in the aquabike race.

He completed the 1.9km river swim and 78km bike in 2:50, while Marc Bozdogan was fourth in a time of 3:14 and was third in his age group.

Steven Hession took part in the triathlon by adding a 21km run after the bike course and finished the three disciplines in 5:26.

There was a large contingent racing at Cotswold 113 – a middle-distance triathlon made up of a 1.9km swim, 90km bike and 21km run which took place in the surroundings of the Cotswold Water Park.

Grant Marshall was first over the line for the squad in a time of 4:41 having completed an impressive 90km cycle in 2:23 and was fourth in his age group.

Marcus Gaskell’s punchy 30:27 swim helped with an overall time of 4:46 and Jez Emmett completed his first middle-distance race with an equally notable 4:50.

They were joined by fellow racers from Do3 including Benn Chatt, Ines Carrera and Emma Bexson.

Beccy Huntley completed another mammoth open water swim at the Jubilee Swim which covered 10km in the River Thames at Maidenhead.

Several other squad members took part in a weekend of middle-distance disciplines centred around Do3’s new open water base at Compton Verney.

Do3 head coach Dave Knight commented: “The coaching team is so proud of this weekend’s results.

“It’s proof of the commitment everyone has been putting in during circumstances which have been personally and mentally trying.

“The entire squad send their best wishes to Pete Wheildon who sustained an injury while racing at Cotswold 113.

“Knowing his resolve, he will be back racing before long and chasing the sub-five-hour contingent down again!”
