New sponsors announced for Sports Awards

Redditch Editorial 24th Aug, 2016 Updated: 18th Oct, 2016   0

THE HEREFORDSHIRE and Worcestershire Sports Awards evening is fast approaching and the Sports Partnership Herefordshire and Worcestershire is elated to announce a host of new sponsors for the event.

Bullivant Media (publisher of the Standard), Modus Creative, Scimitar Sports, University of Worcester, Freedom Leisure and BBC Hereford and Worcester were already on board as category sponsors and now more sponsorship opportunities have since been snapped up.

Stephen Brewster, chief executive officer of the Sports Partnership, said: “This event is our chance to honour our local sportsmen and women, coaches, volunteers, clubs and officials.

“Over the years, we’ve received such huge support for the awards and the partners that we have attracted share with us in wanting to recognise, reward and celebrate the positive impact that individuals and clubs are making on sport and physical activity.

“The awards offer a great opportunity for businesses and organisations to gain exposure and expand their consumer base, reaching new audiences. What better time to be involved in sport than in an Olympic and Paralympic year?”

Returning after last year’s event is the Herefordshire & Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce, backing the Young Volunteer of the Year Award.

A not-for-profit organisation, the Herefordshire & Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce aims to back local business and members through the provision of support services.

Premiership Rugby Club Worcester Warriors will also return to the event, providing category sponsorship for the Community Club of the Year award, which aims to recognise clubs providing high quality sporting environments for its members.

Spirit Executive is an executive search and recruitment solution specialist with the aim of attracting the highest, best calibre, talent to deliver programmes and objectives, thus providing return on investment.

Spirit Executive will sponsor the Junior Team of the Year Award.

The Unsung Hero Award is back for another year, recognising and rewarding an individual who has made a significant contribution to sport and physical activity in Herefordshire and/or Worcestershire over a number of years.

For 2016, this award will be sponsored by Mann Broadbent Sports Insurance, an independent insurance brokers providing clients with their required cover and support.

It provides insurance for a range of clients from individuals to national governing bodies, amateurs and professionals.

There are still sponsorship opportunities available, for both category sponsors and headline sponsorship opportunities. A full list of this year’s categories and registration for nominations can be found at www.sportspartnershiphw.co.uk/award-categories.

Nominations will close on Sunday, September 25 at 11.59pm. For more information about the awards evening, including sponsorship opportunities, contact Sarah Mackay by email at [email protected] or call 01905 855543.

Over the coming weeks and months we will continue to preview the awards before profiling those in line for honours as the event draws nearer.
