CHAIRMAN David Faulkner says the long-term vision at Redditch United will be accelerated after local business owners Zeta Hewings and Wayne McCormack announced their purchase of a 26 percent combined stake in the club.
The pair, who are the founders of United’s current shirt sponsor and corporate partners Zoo Accounting & Business Solutions, have both committed themselves to the project that is developing at the Trico Stadium, with a view to building on a successful near-12 months since the change in ownership.
For Faulkner, who has helped bridge the gap to supporters since purchasing the Southern League Premier Central outfit in July 2020, the benefits of new investment in the Reds will further enhance the team on and off the field – he believes.
“Not only will their involvement help strengthen our financial position, but their expertise will help to further stabilise the club,” he said.
“I had a very clear ten-year plan when I took the club on, and further external investment helps us to move that timescale forward.
“We have been on a great journey over the last 12 months, and it is good to have more people on board as we continue to grow the club and strengthen our links in the local community.”
McCormack is no stranger to the club having officially joined the Redditch boardroom in February, after previously being close to a sponsorship deal.
“Coming back to the club a couple of years on, it is like a different place,” said United’s new stakeholder.
“David has a very clear vision, and working with someone as passionate as him gives anyone linked with him a real buzz at what can be achieved here.”
“Together with Wayne and David, we will be able to continue the growth of the club in the community and help to develop more opportunities for all,” Hewings added.
“There are some very significant projects that we are working on currently, and we will be sharing more information about these in the coming months.”
