REDDITCH Borough have continued their summer rebuild with the acquisition of two new midfielders.

Julian Workman’s side have brought in Adam Watson and Khurum Iqbal to strengthen their side in the engine room, making it four signings in all during the close season for the Midland League Division Two club.

Watson arrives from West Midlands (Regional) Division One outfit Droitwich Spa, for whom he made two appearances in his debut season in non-league football, whilst Iqbal returns to Borough having previously represented the club between 2016 and 2019.

The moves help build further excitement at the club, with Borough’s Sunday team returning to the pitch this weekend with a trip to Frankley United as the Redditch & South Warwickshire Combination League finally resumes.

Borough Sunday sit fourth in the division with 13 points after six games played, and will fancy their chances against a Frankley side that has conceded 40 goals in seven games, accumulating just two points during that time.

Elsewhere, Redditch’s Midland League rivals Feckenham are gearing up for life on the road, after announcing five fixtures during April and May.

Glenn Adams and Aaron Blackwood’s side head to Hereford Pegasus on Saturday, followed by trips to Cadbury Athletic [April 10], Paget Rangers [April 17], Chelmsley Town [April 24] and Droitwich Spa [May 1] to officially close out the 2020/21 season.
