Maunder aims to pack a punch at prestigious boxing event

MATCHBOROUGH teenage boxing champion Lewis Maunder is in action at the world famous Alexandra Palace in London this weekend (June 19-21) in the Haringey Box Cup.

The Box Cup is Europe’s biggest tournament and sees over 500 boxers from all over the continent compete for the coveted gold medal.

Sixteen-year-old Maunder travels alongside his team-mates from Jewellery Quarter Boxing Club in Birmingham and will be giving his all to emerge triumphant.

Maunder has already achieved great success this season in winning the Birmingham & District Junior Championships and also gaining runner-up spot in the Midlands Junior Championships.




The talented Redditch boxer is in a good run of form and goes into the Box Cup with a second round stoppage win from his last contest under his belt.
