Kingfishers head into derby in good form

REDDITCH Entaco head into Saturday’s crucial home derby against Astwood Bank in upbeat mood after disposing of lowly Evesham last weekend.

Evesham, who batted first in the Worcestershire County League Premier Division clash, were bowled out for just 108 with all the bowlers chipping in with wickets.

Waqas Ali (3-23) and Ghulam Moyhuddin (3-15) led the way, with Haris Ali (2-15), Hasnain Nawaz (1-17) and James Bevan (1-17) chipping in.

In reply, Redditch lost Tom Phelan without scoring but Tom Field continued his good form with the bat with 36 and Russell Southwick hit 55 as Redditch eased home in just 32 overs.




The Seconds beat Old Vigornians by 48 runs in an entertaining Division Three match at Bromsgrove Road.

Batting first, Redditch scored 237-7 off 50 overs with Luke Davis leading the way with 44.


In reply, Old Vigornians lost wickets and only Osman Fiaz offered any resistance with a fine 127 as they were bowled out for 189.

Tomorrow the 2nds travel to Barnards Green.

Stone completed a double over the Thirds with an emphatic ten-wicket victory in their top-of-the-table clash in Division 10 .

Redditch were all out for 237 with Harry Sharpe top-scoring with 52 and Dan Protherough hitting a fine 48 but openers Chris Haler (112) and Pete Haler (83) steered Stone home with five overs to spare.
