Juniors fly the B&R flag impressively

THERE were some highly impressive performances from Bromsgrove & Redditch Athletic Club runners at Sunday’s West Midland Young Athletes Cross Country League fixture at Northampton.

Josh Robins claimed victory in the U13 boys’ race and his B&R team-mates Finton Hutt and George Godwin finished 20th and 23rd respectively to leave the team in seventh place overall.

Josh’s brother Finnan was second in the U11 boys’ event, Pijus Tvardauskas fourth and Nathan Sanders 38th to leave the team tenth overall.

The U15 girls’ team sit 11th after a third placed finish for Beth Sykes and 19th spot for Anna Nicod.




Amy Mijovic-Cauldwell finished third in the U17 girls’ race and there were also impressive finishes from Ellen Bowen (10th), Alice Battey (18th), Chelsea Wright (19th) and Ellen Moss (29th).

These excellent results leave the U17 girls in third place.


Joseph Hamilton was fourth in the U15 boys’ event, Trenten Roberts 33rd, Harrison Mayne 44th and Joshua Keyte 56th to leave the team sitting sixth.

Gareth Richardson was fifth in the U17 boys’ race and Alexander Johnson 47th to leave the team sixth.

Natalie Hatfield came ninth in the U13 girls’ event, Sophie Groom 34th, Esme Ranger 57th, Lauren Sykes 93rd and Quincy Roberts 97th and the squad are now tenth overall.

In the U11 girls’ competition the team sit 11th after Lucy Hatfield finished 15th and Sophie Evans 78th.
