REDDITCH Ladies ended their Worcestershire League Division One campaign with an impressive performance as they pushed champions Bromsgrove 1sts all the way before slipping to a 2-1 home defeat.
Bromsgrove have won all 15 league games this season but they were given a fright when Redditch took an early lead through Jodie Williams.
Bromsgrove had to work hard for their equaliser and they had taken the lead by half time.
The second half was dominated by Redditch but they could not grab the goal which would have secured a share of the spoils.
Redditch were proud to end their campaign in high spirits with a strong team effort to finish a challenging season.
REDDITCH men’s West Midlands Division One promotion hopes were ended by Leamington, whose 6-2 win at Bromsgrove Road means they will finish as runners-up behind champions Stafford if they can beat the table-toppers in their final match on Saturday.
The Kingfishers, whose goals were scored by Harry Capewell, look set to finish fourth. They end the season with a visit to Evesham on Saturday.
