REDDITCH United confirmed their status in the Southern League Premier Central next season with a 2-0 win against local rivals Stourbridge on Easter Monday to end their five-game losing run.

Tom Hewlett and Jack Byrne scored either side of half time to secure the three points needed that mathematically secured safety for the Reds at the Trico Stadium.

United finished their home campaign on a high as Hewlett drove a low effort into the bottom right corner on 44 minutes before Byrne flicked a header into the top right corner on 55 minutes to settle the contest.

That came after a 1-0 defeat at Tamworth last weekend as Wahib Tahra’s late goal inflicted a third successive one-goal defeat on Matt Clarke’s side.

The results leave Redditch in 15th place in the table with one match left to play this season.

Redditch conclude their league season with a trip to Biggleswade Town on Saturday, April 23 with kick-off at 3pm at Langford Road.
