RACEWAYS Events will be hosting The Avenger 2015 triathlon event for the third year running on Sunday, June 21.

The Avenger is situated in the picturesque countryside of Ragley Hall in Alcester.

The triathlon is a charity event from which all profits will be donated to local charity ‘Kids Run Free’ – a charity which strives to ignite a passion for sport in children by providing them with free regular sporting opportunities.

There will be a new course this year which will feature previous unseen views of the Ragley Estate and further woodland paths. Competitors can challenge themselves at individual or relay races as there are sprint, middle and Olympic distances, with the middle distance being a 1,900m swim, 90km cycle and 21km run.

This year, Great Britain representative Sam Parker and Marie Voice (scouted by Birmingham Running, Athletics & Triathlon Club) have signed up for the event, which is on course to achieve over 600 entries.

Parker competed in the British Super Series in 2014 and achieved a 12th placed finish ahead of over 100 highly competitive athletes in the Jenson Button Trust Triathlon.

He now says he is keen to test himself “over a new distance on what looks to be a great course”.

Voice is going into this race off the back of a record-breaking time in the Mad Dash 2015 and she is excited about racing in her first middle distance event.

“Ragley Hall is a spectacular venue so I’m looking forward to soaking up the atmosphere on course and hopefully enjoying some local support.”

There are still places available for all races at The Avenger 2015. For more information visit the Raceways Events website or enter into the race directly at www.riderhq.com/events/67677/the-avenger-triathlon.
