HEWELL Bowling Club teams finished as both champions and runners-up in the Interberga Mixed Triples League.

Hewell fielded three teams in the league this year and the Hewell Red team finished with 142 points, 18 ahead of the Hewell Blue team, with Droitwich Spa White in third place on 119 points.

The winner’s shield was handed to Hewell Red captain Jason Doherty by Inkberrow Bowls Club president David Willis at a presentation evening at Inkberrow.

The Interberga League was founded by a group of enthusiasts from Inkberrow in 2002 and the league’s title comes from the historic name for the village. Matches are played on Tuesday evenings throughout the summer.

As part of the presentation evening, a triples competition was held for all clubs in the league and that was won by a team from Inkberrow.
