REDDITCH CC claimed a thrilling 13-run win against Stourbridge after bowling their opponents out for 172 as Sahil Mahmood’s 3-41 proved crucial in the Worcestershire Premier Division clash.

The home side lost the toss and were put into bat but struggled to build a meaningful partnership with the majority of the runs shared between Adeel Sajid (31), Ben Tredget (29), Oliver Mason (26) and Haris Ali (20 not out).

That saw Redditch bowled out for 185 in 47.1 overs with a second-wicket stand of 42 between Tredget and Sajid marking their highest partnership.

However, Stourbridge also struggled with the bat with Mahmood the pick of the bowlers alongside Nabeel Asghar (2-12), Mohammad Zahid (2-26) and Mason (2-29).

The hosts restricted their opponents to 115-5 before taking the final three wickets for the addition of just 11 runs to bowl Stourbridge out for 172 in 38.5 overs.

Redditch’s 2nd XI beat Brockhampton 2nds by 105 runs and their 3rd XI thrashed Astwood Bank 4ths by 10 wickets after they skittled their opponents for 50 as Shahid Hanif took an impressive 6-15.
