REDDITCH HDA Tennis Club players enjoyed a highly successful time at the Herefordshire & Worcestershire County Championships.
More than 130 players competed to be be crowned county champion in their age group at the week-long event, which was held at Manor Park in Malvern.
Redditch HDA’s Alex Maggs and Paulina Jurkowska were named Herefordshire & Worcestershire Junior Player of the Year for boys and girls respectively.
Jurkowska was the 12 and under girls’ singles champion, 12 and under girls’ doubles champion with club-mate Latesha Grant and 14 and under girls’ doubles winner.
Maggs was both 16 and under and 18 and under boys’ champion and 16 and under boys’ doubles winner.
The Batchley club’s honours did not end there as Isabelle Pioli was the eight and under girls’ singles runner-up and Caleb Ravenscroft was the nine and under boys’ singles runner-up and runner-up in the nine and under and ten and under boys’ doubles.
Grant was runner-up in both the 12 and under and 14 and under girls’ singles and was 12 and under girls’ doubles champion with Jurkowska.
Scott Mortimer was crowned 12 and under boys’ doubles champion and Max Hingley was runner-up in both the 14 and under and 16 and under boys’ doubles.
Jack Smith finished runner-up in both the 18 and under boys’ doubles and open men’s doubles.
Redditch HDA head coach Tony Ravenscroft said: “Players have worked hard throughout the year and the results show that.”
