SOME of the region’s leading businesses have rallied to support a top golf tournament being staged at Redditch Golf Club.
The Lower Grinsty Lane venue is hosting the Northern Ireland pre-qualifying day on Monday, May 18. The competition provides up and coming golfers with the chance to win a place in this prestigious European Challenge Tour event.
The day is being backed by Alutrade Products, the Droitwich supplier of window blind systems, Auto Electrics Redditch, the one stop shop for all motoring needs, and BST Supplies Ltd of Wolverhampton, the world leaders in fasteners for hostile environments.
The top two golfers will qualify to compete at the Northern Ireland Open, which runs between August 6-9 at Galgorm Castle Golf Club in Ballymena, County Antrim.
Club marketing chairman Stuart Mee said they were very grateful to these businesses for stepping in as prize money sponsors.
“We are expecting a field of more than 60 of the UK’s best young professionals as they battle to qualify for just two precious invitations for the Northern Ireland Open.
“We hope members, guests and visitors to Redditch Golf Club will take advantage of the opportunity to watch professional golfers close up on the day.
“Our restaurant and bar will be open on the day and all we need now is a beautiful day to complement the course which is shaping up to be in tip-top condition as our groundstaff target May 18 as the day to show just how good Redditch Golf Club now is and why it is proving so popular with discerning golfers across the Midlands.”
