THERE were multiple medal successes for Bromsgrove & Redditch Athletic Club field aces at the British Masters Indoor Championships at Lee Valley Athletics Centre in London.

Up against some of the finest athletes in the country over two days, B&R athletes rose to the challenge.

In the women’s 60 age group, Julie Wakelam won gold in the hammer, silver in the javelin, long jump and triple jump, bronze in the discus and she was fourth in the shot put.

In the men’s 50 age group, Calvin Scoltock finished fifth in both the 1,500m and 800m, whilst in the same category Paul Husband won high jump gold despite carrying an injury.

Peter Mould picked up an injury at the start of his race whilst competing in the men’s 60 age group but he is hoping to be back fit and strong for the summer.

Sam Cater was competing in the men’s 35 age group and he turned on the style to bag gold in the javelin and discus, silver in the shot put and bronze in the hammer and weight throw.
