KIRK Wright, Mike Estell, Neil Laxton and Ray Barnett are set to compete for glory at White Hart’s Autumn League Finals Day which takes place this weekend.

Wright and Estell topped their groups in qualifying with Laxton and Barnett securing their places in the semi-finals as runners-up.

That means Estell will play Laxton and Wright takes on Barnett for a place in the final – with all the matches taking place on Sunday.

Both the semi-finals and final will be played 21-up – where the object is to be the first to reach a score of 21.

Finals Day has been moved forward to this weekend due to weather – with dry and mild conditions forecast for tomorrow.

The action starts at midday (12pm) and all supporters are welcome to attend.

The qualifying phase saw bowlers split into two groups – A and B – with the top two players advancing to the last four.

And in Group A, Estell and Barnett both won 11 of their 12 matches – with Estell advancing as group winner by virtue of having a better shot aggregate.

Gill Croft secured third place in the group with five points whilst John Meredith, Mike Jeynes and Mick Perrins all scored four points.

Former Warwick and Worcester Merits champion Norman Batchelor propped up the group on three points with John Hinks unable to complete his matches due to injury.

And in Group B it was Wright and Laxton who progressed with the former winning all 10 of his qualifying games.

Laxton was a close second – winning eight matches – to finish three points clear of Denis Turner and Neil Harrison who were third and fourth respectively.

Tony Cox placed fifth whilst Jacqui Barnett finished bottom after failing to register a point – both Phil Hemming and Mike Hancock had to withdraw from the competition due to injury/illness.

White Hart Bowling Club is located behind the White Hart pub on Evesham Road.

Finals Day is set to get underway at midday (12pm) on Sunday, November 14 with all supporters welcome to attend.
