BROMSGROVE & REDDITCH Athletic Club’s Mark Appleton claimed a top ten place in the third and penultimate round of the Worcestershire Summer Midweek Series at Droitwich last Wednesday.
The 10k is a tough course on the road, with one lap out and back.
Appleton finished eighth in a time of 35 minutes, 06 seconds, followed by B&R team-mate Ashley Ross in 11th in 35.37.
For the third time, former B&R runner Simon Lanckham won the race in a time of 33.03 and Molly Browne, a team-mate of his from Birmingham’s BRAT club, was first woman home in 18th place overall, clocking 36.15.

The final race of the series is the toughest one, an off-road event held by Halesowen A&CC, taking place from the wardens hut on the Clent Hills on Wednesday, August 9. Entries are accepted on the day.
