Correspondent 29th May, 2018

LOCAL people are invited to put questions to West Mercia Chief Constable Anthony Bangham as part of a ground breaking public holding to account meeting.

The Police and Crime Commissioner, holds regular meetings with the Chief Constable, focusing on key priorities raised by communities. June’s meeting will focus on ‘Policing in Your Community; and will be broadcast live via facebook.

Do you want to know more about who your local police are? Do you want to know how police are making use of technology? Are you interested in what’s being done to tackle cyber, rural or business or another type of crime? Is there a particular local issue you want answers on? The Commissioner will be able to ask these questions, and others focused on policing in the community as part of the live stream.

Questions can be submitted in advance, or live via Facebook and Twitter at 10.30am on Tuesday, June 26.

The Commissioner will also be out and about in communities, to take questions from the public, as part of a summer events programme.

PCC John Campion said “It’s my role to give communities a voice at the highest level. This is something I’ve been doing throughout my time in office, and by hosting the meetings online through social media, I am building on this to ensure everyone can be more involved in the most open and transparent way. I know that policing matters to our communities, and I would encourage people to get involved online and at the summer events, so that things that are important to you, are listened to and acted upon.”
