CHILDREN can show off their creative sides this half-term when Hip Hop workshops and an open mic night will be held at Popworld in Redditch.
The sessions, for nine to 18-year-olds, have been organised by Reimagine Redditch and will give participants the chance to create, perform and enjoy everything the Hip Hop scene has to offer.
Whether youngsters rap, breakdance, make ‘beats’, or want to ‘spit some bars’, the hosts and organisers want to see them there.
Richard Bromhall, Reimagine Redditch’s programme director, said: “Hip Hop is all about self-expression, and we want to see what young people have to offer.
“We’re inviting homegrown talent to join us for an open mic session as part of a night filled with performances from both professional Hip Hop artists and rising stars.
“No matter your experience level, if you’ve got something to share, this is your shot to be part of something new. Let’s make Hip Hop history.”
Reimagine Redditch is working with Midlands based Your Next Move (‘Igniting creativity through Hip-Hop culture’) to deliver a two-part hip-hop project.
The first part involves two days of creative Hip Hop workshops at Popworld between 10.45am and 3.30pm on October 28 and 29. Plant based lunch provided. No other dietary needs or allergies catered to.
Places are limited so people are urged email: [email protected] to book in advance.
Children must be dropped off and collected by their responsible adult.
The second part is a Hip Hop event night with open mic at Popworld from 7pm on October 29. There is no need to book for that.
