Youngster appeals to borough businesses for help fulfilling go-kart dream

A MOTORSPORT loving youngster from Redditch has appealed to borough businesses for help in fulfilling his go-karting dream.

Over the last two years nine-year-old Josh Jarvis has been driving a ‘bambino kart’ in the MSA British Championship but he has now outgrown it and needs a new kart, safety equipment and spares to take him to the next level.

The cost for everything is higher in the next class and the first race of the season is in Spain on February 16.

Josh said: “Karting has really made me happy and changed my life but now I have to move up into the cadet class which is a massive step for me.”

Josh, who dreams of one day lining up on a Formula One grid, finished just outside the top ten in the MSA Bambino British Championship where he tested his driving skills against the best in his age range from across the UK.

Last year he was featured on TV, racing in the Super One series and he and his kart have a great following.

His dad Tim is hoping he can do even better this year.

“As Josh is from Redditch it would be great if he could be sponsored by some local businesses and help put them on the map as well when he takes to the track.”

Company names and logos would be displayed on Josh’s kart, race suit or helmet in return for funding.

Tim added: “His dream is to continue karting all over the UK in British championships and with a bit of help he could be very successful.”

Anyone who can help Josh should email Tim at [email protected] or call him on 07850 477536.
