Words of wisdom: Citizens Advice salutes its dedicated volunteers

Redditch Editorial 1st Jun, 2020   0

IT’S National Volunteers Week and Citizens Advice Bromsgrove and Redditch has been saluting its dedicated team who give priceless advice to those in desperate need of help.

The organisation has continued giving advice to those in need throughout the coronavirus pandemic thanks to the tireless work of its staff and volunteers.

Normally the teams of volunteers – 58 in total – work out of offices at Redditch Town Hall and at 50-52 Birmingham Road, Bromsgrove, and during the coronavirus outbreak have maintained the level of service over the phone or via webchat.

Volunteers’ Week runs from June 1-7 and in the last year the two offices have helped people with their problems such as debt, housing, benefit and employment issues.

Sue Jordan, chair of the trustees at Bromsgrove and Redditch Citizens Advice said: “Throughout the year our wonderful volunteers contribute their time and energy to make a huge difference to people’s lives and help keep our vital service running.

“Whether they have been able to continue in their role recently, or have paused their volunteering, their support throughout the year has been truly invaluable.

“I cannot thank them enough for their continued dedication. We really couldn’t do it without them.”
