A WOMAN was trapped for over an hour after the car she was in collided with a tree.
The single vehicle crash happened on Whitemoor Lane, near Astwood Bank at about 11.20am on this morning, Thursday, March 7.
An ambulance, paramedic and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham were sent to the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “On arrival staff found a car that with extensive damage with one wheel a considerable distance from the rest of the vehicle.
“The woman driver, who was the only occupant, had suffered multiple injuries and was trapped.
“Ambulance staff worked with firefighters to extricate her safely from the wreckage.
“After a full assessment and treatment at the scene, she was taken on blue lights to the major trauma centre at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham by ambulance with the aircrew travelling with them.”
