Witness appeal after teenager is charged with possessing a knife

A 15-year-old has been charged with possession of a knife in Redditch, police said this week.

CCTV security teams spotted a group of youths on Vine Street – the road at the back of Unicorn Hill – at around 4pm on Saturday, April 23, and immediately contacted the police.

Officers attended, and three youths were arrested, one has been charged with possession of a knife.

Two other 15-year-olds, who were also arrested on suspicion of possession of a knife, have been released under investigation.




Safer Neighbourhood Officers have increased patrols in Redditch to offer reassurance to the local community.

Officers are urging anyone who may have witnessed the group in or around the Kingfisher Shopping Centre to call 101 or visit https://www.westmercia.police.uk/tua/tell-us-about/ quoting incident 440 of 23 April.
