TEENAGERS aged 16 and 17 can get their Covid-19 jabs at a walk-in clinic at Heart of Worcestershire College, Peakman Street, Redditch this coming week.

The clinic will be open on Wednesday and Thursday, September 1-2 from 9am to 5pm.

There is no need to book, but photo ID is required. Just turn up to get your first Pfizer jab.

Liz Altay, deputy director of public health for Worcestershire said: “Walk-in clinics make it much easier and more convenient for people to come forward to get their jab.

“Vaccination against Covid-19 is so important, not just because it protects the person receiving the vaccine, but it also helps to protect friends, family and the community.”

Stuart Laverick, chief executive of Heart of Worcestershire College added: “We are pleased to offer our students and other 16 and 17-year-olds the chance to simply pop in and get their first Covid -19 jab at HOW College, Redditch.

“We invite anyone aged 16 or 17 to drop in to receive a vaccination.”

Councillor Matt Dormer, Leader of Redditch Borough Council, said: “The lockdown has been hard on everyone but I think our younger residents particularly have been affected at a time when they should be out and about having fun with their mates.

“I am delighted the jab is now available for our 16 to 17 year olds so they can safely enjoy life beyond freedom day – of course still with caution.

“The grab a jab clinic makes it easier than ever to get vaccinated so I hope our younger residents take up this opportunity.”
