Vintage vehicles rolling into Redditch tomorrow

A HOST of beautiful vintage vehicles will be rolling into Redditch Town Centre at the Classic Motor Show tomorrow.

Redditch BID is working together with Shakespeare Rally Promotions to bring the popular Vintage Day at the Band Stand event packed full with even more motors.

The event will get under way at 11am and will include vintage and classic cars, motorbikes and steam engines.

There will also be vintage buses and military vehicles at the free event.

The show will have plenty of activities for youngsters to enjoy, including a children’s funfair and fair organ.

Visitors can enjoy plenty of different market stalls and refreshments will be available throughout the day.

And for sharp dressers, there will be a chance to win a prize for the person who wears the best vintage outfit.

BID manager Muj Rahman said: “Redditch has so much history and what better way to celebrate the heritage of our town than a Vintage Day at the bandstand.

“We are looking forward to this calendar event that has been successful in the past and hope to add much more to the event.”

St Stephen’s Church will be at the heart of the motor show, with vintage games outside including a tombola and hook a duck.

There will also be plant stalls and inside the cafe will be open for drinks and cakes.

People can dance around the St Stephen’s aisles with Redditch duo ‘A Touch of Heaven’ performing hits from the 40s to the 80s before local saxophonist Neil Hewitt will take the stage.

Rev Paul Lawlor said: “We hope that Saturday is a fun-filled day at the end of a warm week.

“With activity all around the St Stephen’s Church building, we will be open to provide a cool place.

“We pray we can provide a place of welcome – a place where there is a deep sense of more than just our effort and activity but a sense of God being present with, God over all and in all.”
