SHOP windows, walls and vehicles on Evesham road in Headless Cross have been vandalised by rogue teenagers over the weekend.

The culprits have left graffiti tags in spray paint throughout the length of the road, even being caught on CCTV.

Residents were left outraged, posting photographs on local Facebook group, Spotted: Redditch.

The owner of a vehicle that was vandalised said: “So sad person has vandalised my dads truck!

“I don’t understand why people feel the need to go round doing this.”

Another commented: “Hopefully there should be cameras along that street and get them caught.

“Need to nip it in the bud early otherwise it will be all over Redditch if just left to happen.”

One of the shops vandalised was Morris Mica, a family owned hardware shop.

Maria Morris, from Morris Mica said: “It’s very sad, but we’re lucky that we were able to scrape the graffiti off the front of the shop.

“I feel for the people who have had their cars tagged.

“Why these people feel the need to vandalise peoples business and cars is beyond me.”

Maria said she doesn’t have any idea who has vandalised the shop, but she has passed the CCTV onto the police.

“The police are confident that they will be able to catch him soon, as he is using a tag which will make his graffiti more distinctive.”

A spokes person for West Mercia Police said: “Police are actively investigating criminal damage to vehicles, bus stops and other buildings along Evesham Road, Redditch.

“The damage occurred between 01.00hrs and 03.30hrs on Sunday 31st October and consisted of graffiti type damage involving the use of various colours of spray paint.

“Any information from local residents and other witnesses should be given to West Mercia Police on the non-emergency number, 101, quoting incident reference 00391_I_31102021.
