A TOTAL of 94 traffic offences were detected 94 offences by Warwickshire Police in a two day operation at Corley Services on the M6 on Wednesday and Thursday June 9-10.

Using police motorcyclists to the motorway, officers identified ‘vehicles of interest’ and brought them into the services for checks.

They duly found six drivers with no insurance, five drivers with no licence, three with no tax and three with no MoT and three not wearing seatbelts.

A further three were pulled over for careless driving, three for using a handheld mobile phone whilst driving, and one driver for not being in proper control of the vehicle.

In addition seven were stopped for driving with excessive tints and eight for having vehicles with tyre defects.

A further six were given the opportunity to deal with relatively minor defects, like cracked light lenses, blown bulbs, or worn tyres within 14 days to avoid prosecution.

There were 17 drivers at the wheel of vehicles that were dangerously overweight and 11 were found not to have safely secured the loads they were transporting.

Two drivers were stopped for ignoring a red automatic traffic signal.
