Turn the town pink at the Cancer Research Race for Life day in Redditch

Redditch Editorial 6th Jun, 2019   0

THIS Sunday, June 9, is Race for Life Day at the Arrow Valley Park in Redditch.

And for the first time, grown-up sons will be able to take part alongside their mothers as Cancer Research UK opens up the Race for Life events to everyone.

Cancer Research UK’s Katie Bevan, who is organising the 5km event at the Arrow Valley Park in Redditch said: “Our Race for Life events are fun, colourful, emotional and uplifting.

“You don’t need to be sporty to take part. You don’t have to train, and you certainly don’t need to compete against anyone else.

“It’s a perfect example of everyday people doing an extraordinary thing – uniting in a common cause to beat cancer.”

There on the day will be the fantastic members of Redditch Ladies Circle who for the seventh year running will be managing the administration tent, marshalling, running the charity shop and taking official photos.

To join Race for Life visit raceforelife.org or call 0300 123 0770 or simply turn up on the day.

The 5km starts at 11am from the Arrow Valley Visitor Centre but turn up in good time to catch the big warm up beforehand.

Entry is £14.99 for adults with funds raised going to boost Cancer Research UK’s battle to combat cancer.
