A MAN was assaulted as he lay on the ground in Redditch town centre.

The victim, who is in his 30s, was thrown out of the Warwick Arms Pub where he was pursued by a group of men.

He was followed through an underpass which leads to outside the Palace Theatre and was attacked by the men. He suffered swelling to his eyes and cheeks.

The incident happened about 2am on Sunday, November 30 but details have only just been released by police.
