CYCLING fans in Redditch can go and watch 2018 Tour de France winner Geraint Thomas and Giro d’Italia winner Chris Froome race on native soil when they both compete in the Ovo Tour of Britain.
The Sky team duo will be competing in the week-long event from September 2-9 which on Wednesday, September 5 – Stage 4 from Nuneaton to Leamington – goes through the nearby Cotswolds taking in the climbs at Ilmington and Ebrington.
Redditch has hosted a leg of the Tour Series town centre bike racing event for the past seven years and this year the Ovo Women’s Tour of Britain raced through the borough.
This year will be the first time the Sky duo have ridden the Tour of Britain since 2009.
The race will also feature the LottoNL-Jumbo rider Primoz Roglic who finished fourth in the Tour de France.
