Three day Redditch Food Festival set to get tastebuds tingling

Redditch Editorial 26th May, 2022   0

THE Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations kick off in style this weekend with the launch of the fantastic Redditch Food Festival.

Featuring more than 40 food and drink stalls, celebrity demonstrations and some top entertainment, it promises something for everyone.

Running from this Friday, May 27 through to Sunday, May 29 all the action will be happening around St Stephen’s Church on Market Place, Church Green East and Alcester Street.

It promises to be Redditch as residents have never seen it before.

It’s all been organised by the town centre BID – Business Improvement District – and is set to get tastebuds really tingling.

“Lined up we have a live demo kitchen headed by multi-Michelin star and 5/5 AA Rosette winning chef, author, and restaurateur Jean-Christophe Novelli,” said BID manager Muj Rahman.

“And that’s not all we have children and family entertainment from BBC presenter Katy Ashworth and Madam Zucchini all supported by local talents from Indigo Arts, Top Box Theatre Company, and Shaun Paul Smith Dance Academy.”

As well as food from around the world there will also be local produce and arts and crafts for visitors to browse and much more, including a demonstration on how to cook top cuisine from local restaurant Rileys.

“This is the start of our Jubilee celebrations,” said Muj.

“The BID is here to support the town centre and we’ve had a fantastic response from the businesses who support us.”

The Redditch Food Festival is promising a three day fun filled event right in the heart of the town centre.

It runs from Friday, May 27 to Sunday, May 29 from 10am to 6pm each day with the entertainment running from 11am to 7pm.

The event is being supported by local town centre businesses and Redditch Kingfisher Rotary and is free to visit.
