BOROUGH community groups have the chance to kick-start their festivities by signing up to this year’s Christmas parade on Saturday, November 23.

Organisers are hoping charities and organisations will enter the opening parade alongside acrobatic elves, stilt walkers and ballerinas.

Each year the event draws in hundreds of visitors with its music and entertainment.

Lyndsey Berry, from North Worcestershire Economic Development and Regeneration, said: “It’s a really special event for all of the groups, performers, organisers and of course the visitors.

“Sign up and help us put community spirit into the festive period.”

This year’s parade will start at 3.30pm at the Town Hall.

Later there will be performances from the Shaun Paul Smith Dance Academy, Kidz Bop UK, The Voice UK’s assistant choreographer and dancers from London’s Pineapple Dance Studio.

Finally visitors can enjoy headline act ‘The Greatest Show Performance’ before Father Christmas turns on the lights at 5.30pm.
