A THIEF posing as a water supplier stole jewellery and money from a woman’s house after she invited him in on Tuesday, December 1.
The suspect entered the home on Cedar View and then distracted the woman before taking her possessions.
The incident happened between 4.30pm and 5pm.
PC Richard Britton of West Mercia Police said: “It’s believed he also entered a number of neighbouring addresses and tried several others before targeting the victim.
“He’s described as white, in his mid-twenties, around 5ft 10 in height, with a stocky build.
“He was wearing all grey clothing as well as a face mask and a black beanie hat.
“This has understandably been a traumatic experience for the victim.”
Police are urging others to keep their jewellery and important belongings in a safe place or locked up if possible.
And to make sure windows and doors are locked at all times, and the lights are left on when leaving the house.
PC Britton added: “If you are unsure about a visitor at your door, ask their name, who they work for and if they have a contact number for you to call and check.
“Ask them to return later while you make those checks.”
