THE Alcester and District Friends of Cancer Research UK are back with their 30th garden walkabout on June 26 when around 20 gardens of all sizes will open for visitors to view behind the ancient houses in the town centre.
The award-winning Malt Mill Lane area and St Nicholas Church will also open and there will be toe-tapping music for visitors as they embark on their walkabout.
A variety of plants will be on sale at reasonable prices and there will be plenty of delicious refreshments including cream teas and ice creams.
This year’s walkabout has increased significance as the past two were cancelled because of the pandemic, resulting in around £8,000 which would have gone to the charity being lost.
Tickets – at £5 each – are available at Alcester and District Friends stall on Church Street. Children under 12 go free.
The event will take place between midday and 5pm.
