CLOSE to 200 entries have been received for the Redditch Standard Baby of the Year competition.
It’s an amazing total, especially coming after two years of lockdown and with Covid still very much in evidence in communities across the country.
We asked parents and guardians to take their young charges to professional portrait photographer Andrea Powell’s mobile studio in the Kingfisher Shopping Centre for their pictures to be taken.
They were then invited back to choose the photo they would like to put forward for our free to enter competition.
As usual there are two categories, 0 to 18 months and 19 months to three years.
Prizes will be awarded for winners and runners up – a 20”x16” canvas print and Jellycat toy for first place and a 12”x10” canvas and Jellycat toy for the runner up.
Andrea is currently preparing all the photos ready to be passed back to us .
Each photo be numbered and when we receive them they’ll be published on our website at www.redditchstandard.co.uk where people will be able to vote for their favourite.
Note, for the judging each baby will have a number and no names will be published
The ten youngsters with the most votes will go through to the final where they will be joined by another ten chosen by our panel of judges.
From there a winner and a runner up will be selected in each category to be crowned our Baby of the Year.
Employees of Bullivant Media Ltd and their families are not eligible to enter.
