AN 18-YEAR-OLD was shot in the face with an air pistol in Redditch.
It happened around 4.15pm on July 1 in Evesham Road when the victim was walking along.
A dark grey or black hatchback car pulled alongside him and the front passenger has shouted towards the victim.
As he turned around he was shot in the face with the air pistol.
He suffered facial injuries with the pellet landing just millimetres from his eye and leaving him needing hospital treatment.
The attacker was white, in his late teens and the vehicle had three others of similar age and description in it.
Insp Richard Field said: “Incidents of this nature are very rare and this appears to be unprovoked chance attack on the victim.”
