A REDDITCH driver has been involved in a collision where a 17-year-old boy lost his life.

The unnamed man, who was driving a Toyota Avensis, collided with Samuel Chambers near the traffic lights at the junction of the A38 and New Road in Bromsgrove, about 10.20pm on Tuesday (May 13).

The teenager, who was on foot, suffered severe head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene after the arrival of ambulance crews and a doctor.

The Toyota driver was not injured but was treated for shock by paramedics.

An investigation has been launched by West Mercia Police and people are being urged to come forward if they saw anything.

PC Sarah Skelding said: “This incident has tragically resulted in the death of a young man and our thoughts are with his family at this sad time for them.

“We need to establish the full circumstances of how this happened and therefore if anyone witnessed the collision or noticed either the teenager or the car involved immediately beforehand then please get in touch with us.”

Anyone with any information should call PC Skelding in the Operational Policing Unit on 101, quoting incident reference 763-S-130514.
